Quickwrite – Complete a thought bubble in response to the prompt below:

“Kids these days! They think that love conquers all, that nothing matters except how they feel about each other. They have no sense of responsibility to their families, no respect for tradition, no regard for those who are older and wiser. They don’t know the problems they’re going to have that all the love in the world won’t solve for them.”
What do you think of this complaint? Have you heard older people say these things about kids today? How would one of the kids respond to this speaker? Write a quick response from a kid’s point of view.  Post it to your blog.

Homework:    Daddy Daddy Please
Write a well-organized multi-paragraph composition of about 250 words.

Pretend you are Romeo or Juliet in Shakespeare’s tragic play.  Write a persuasive letter convincing either the Montagues or the Capulets to allow the two of you to date.    You must include reasons why the two of you should be allowed to date with references to the text.

Before you begin to write, think about what you could write that would make a difference for you.  Think about what each family would say to disagree with you and make sure you respond to that.

·         Now write a multi-paragraph persuasive letter that would convince the Montagues or Capulets to allow the two of you to date.

  • Remember your audience is either the Montague or Capulet family; use appropriate language and tone.
  • Include specific details so your readers will understand your explanation.
  • Be sure to write clearly and to check your composition for correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar.

I agree with this passage. The fact that kids are blinded by love is a ridicculous problem that most kids have a freind of mine does not focus on his priorities because of a girl not only that but he is also failing his classes.I hear many people say some of the statements that we were stated above but kids would rather ignor and disrespect the adult instead of listning .Kids think they know it all but the reality of it is adults were young once too and they made the same mistakes we did and with that being said we should listen to them instead of ignoring them.
